What is Social Alert?
In an emergency, any alert can be crucial for authorities to pinpoint when and where you are. With the upcoming use of social networks and text messages, emergency personnel and local authorities sometimes reply on online profiles and cell phone usage to retrace a person’s last steps before an emergency took place. It is important that no matter what happens, our friends and loved ones are notified at all times.
With a click of a button, Social Alert lets you send out a message to your friends and relatives in case of an emergency or crime. Integrating with social networks most of us already use such as Facebook, Twitter and text messages, you can send out a custom emergency message with your exact location, helping authorities pinpoint exactly when and where you are.
What if you are unable to send out the message at the exact moment it happens? Social Alert’s got you covered. It allows you to set the emergency message with a countdown timer, which if not deactivated, sends out the message anyway. This is very useful for when you do not trust your surroundings and want to make sure you can be found in the event of an emergency.

June, 2012: The Puerto Rico Small Business and Technology Development Center (SBTDC), collaborative agreement with the Inter-American University of Puerto Rico (INTER) and the Small Business Administration (SBA), collaborating with Puerto Rico Industrial Development Company and the Science and Technology Trust awarded the three winners of the Business Plan Competition INNOVENTURE. INVID won the 3rd Place award for Social Alert.
July, 2012: Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference took place in Toronto, Canada. INVID took the First Place in the Latin America Mobility Business-to-Consumer Application Partner of the Year for Social Alert.
